The Shanti Trust: The Shanti Trust is a small community development organisation based on the shores of Lake Malawi near the town of Chintheche. The Trust works with villages in the historic area of Bandawe to improve access to education, healthy living and the sustainable use of natural resources.

Fires@ALE at the University of Washington: Fires @ ALE is a project of the University of Washington College of Forest Resources, The Nature Conservancy and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The project is investigating the effect of multiple severe wildfires on the sagebrush-steppe habitats of the Arid Lands Ecology Reserve (ALE).
